The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) is an independent authority within the U.S. Department of Commerce. Created in 2012, its mission is to ensure the building, deployment, and operation of FirstNet, the nationwide broadband network that equips first responders to save lives and protect U.S. communities. FirstNet is built in public-private partnership between the FirstNet Authority and AT&T. Stakeholder input is key to ensuring the FirstNet network, features, and services continue to address and support the public safety community's needs.
