Dear Public
Safety Official:
The Broadband Working
Group within the NPSTC Technology Committee has been
tasked to develop the public safety 700 MHz Broadband
Statement of Requirements (SoR) for the Public Safety
Spectrum Trust by November 7, 2007, so that the D
Block bidding community fully understands public
safety's needs for the national broadband network prior
to the January auctions.
Due to the
FCC's mid-January regulatory deadline for the pending
auctions, we need to quickly provide these requirements
to prospective bidders and require a final public safety
review/vetting in very short order.
As
a result of these pressing deadlines, public safety
feedback must be received by 5:00 pm PDT on November 2,
2007, to be assured that comments will be considered
for inclusion in the set of requirements provided to
the bidding community on November 7,
2007.
The
700 MHz Broadband Statement of Requirements is available
for review at www.npstc.org. Also provided is
a form to submit comments to the NPSTC Broadband Working
Group at 700SOR@npstc.org before November 2,
2007, at 5:00 pm PDT. We request you
use this form so we can streamline the process of
addressing your comments and recommendations.
Questions or
concerns can be emailed directly to the Working Group at
700SOR@npstc.org.
Thank you
for your time and for your support on this extremely
important effort for public safety.
Regards,
Vincent
Stile,
NPSTC
Chair
