The National Public Safety Telecommunication Council (NPSTC) will be participating at APCO International's Annual Conference and EXPO 2015 in Washington, D.C. NPSTC looks forward to presenting a panel discussion about critical public safety communications community topics.  NPSTC discusses the Broadband requirements for FirstNet.  In addition, NPSTC discusses outstanding issues with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Note:  NPSTC discusses current events; therefore, the topics to be discussed will be expanded and updated closer to August 2015.

This session will focus on the public safety portion of the 4.9 GHz band and discuss changes proposed by the FCC to reorganize this spectrum for enhanced first responder use.  The use of 4.9 GHz frequencies to support unmanned aerial vehicles, bomb robots, and other devices will be discussed as well as the ability to aggregate spectrum to allow for data applications in a controlled and coordinated manner.
